The first part of the book is told from the point of view of the entomologist who adopts Daniel during a trip to Africa and provides an interesting account of his work and adventures in the Kalahari.
From the time he returns with the boy to Sweden the book is told from Daniel’s point of view. The reader shares the thoughts and feels the longings of the traumatised little boy who just wants to go home to the desert.
Evocatively written this would be a great book for book club discussions.
