About eBooks

You can find, borrow, enjoy and return eBooks on a wide variety of compatible tablets, phones and computers, all for the tempting price of zero dollars per month!

Library members can borrow and download free eBooks from two vendors; OverDrive and BorrowBox.

Getting Started with OverDrive

All you need to get started is an internet connection, a City of Busselton library card and these three steps:

1. Find the Digital Collection

2. Borrow

Use your library card to borrow a title. Titles you’ve borrowed will appear on your Checkout page (under your Account).Borrow OverDrive eBooks

3. Enjoy

On your Checkouts page, you’ll find options for enjoying each borrowed title, like:Enjoy OverDrive eBooks

Getting Started with BorrowBox

You need to be a library member and have access to the Internet to browse and borrow items.
You can borrow up to 10 items using the OverDrive service.
The default lending period for new accounts is set to 14 days, however, you may increase this to 21 days in your account settings if you wish.
You can read eBooks using a computer immediately after borrowing an item. Just click the READ button once you’ve borrowed an eBook and you will be able to read it using OverDrive Read.
Download the OverDrive app from your app store then download borrowed items from the OverDrive website to your device.

Items are automatically returned once the lending period expires. To return an item before its expiry date click the “Return Title” button on the Checkouts page. If you download a title, its “Return Title” button will disappear. You still may be able to return it using the software or app that you used to download it. Learn more about returning digital titles here.
A “Renew” or “Request Again” option will appear on the Checkouts page 3 days before each title’s expiration date. Learn more about renewals here.

BorrowBox FAQ

You need to be a library member and have access to the Internet to browse and borrow items from BorrowBox.
You can borrow up to 6 eBooks using the BorrowBox service.
The lending period is 14 days.
You will need the Adobe Digital Editions software to read BorrowBox eBooks on your computer – you will find a link to download this software on the website after you have borrowed an eBook.
Download the BorrowBox app from your app store to download and read borrowed items on your device.
You will need the Adobe Digital Editions software to read BorrowBox eBooks on your eReader – you will find a link to download this software on the website after you have borrowed an eBook
Items are automatically returned once the lending period expires. No late fees!
