SUMMARY:Advance Health Directive info seminar @ Busselton Library
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Busselton Library on Wednesday\, 29 April 2026\, from 10:30am to 11.30am for an important seminar on Advance Health Directives.\n“If You Couldn’t Communicate\, Who Would Decide for You?”\nThis information seminar challenges the common belief that “my family will know what to do”. \nAn Advance Health Directive is simply a way to tell people what matters to you if you can’t speak for yourself one day. \nIf you were seriously ill or injured and couldn’t make decisions\, doctors and family would have to guess what you’d want. An AHD takes the guessing away. It lets you write down your wishes about medical treatment\, comfort\, and care ahead of time. \nIt’s not about giving up or expecting the worst. It’s about: \n\nkeeping control over your own body and choices\nmaking things easier for the people you love\nreducing stress\, conflict\, and guilt for family in a crisis\nhelping doctors care for you in a way that fits your values\n\nYou don’t need to know medical terms or have everything figured out. An AHD can be as simple as saying what’s important to you — things like comfort\, dignity\, independence\, or being with family. \nAn Advance Health Directive is an act of care- for yourself and for others\, just in case life doesn’t go to plan. \nFree event with refreshments available- bookings essential. \nRegister your free ticket here
