The South

Katherine deserts her husband and 10 year old son, and travels to Barcelona where she embarks on a passionate relationship with Miguel, a fellow artist, who was actively involved in the Spanish Civil War against General Franco. Scarred by his experiences, Miguels’ demons eventually lead to tragedy.

Katherine returns to Ireland and confronts her former life and family and rebuilds her life as a talented painter.

Vividly conveys the parallel world of violence in both Ireland and Spain.
