Did You Know?
Finding new items at the library
We have had people asking how to find new items at the library. In this post, I will explain the different ways we highlight new items to hopefully make it clearer how to find the newer items. There are two ways that we highlight new items inside the library:

- Just Arrived: We have shelves specifically for new adult fiction and adult non-fiction. These are typically items we have acquired in the past three months. At Busselton Library, these shelves are immediately inside the entrance; at Dunsborough, they are near the PCs. Busselton Library also has a shelf in the middle of the Large Print section for large print items acquired in the last six months.
- Face-Out: On each of our regular bookshelves, there is one shelf where the items are displayed with their covers facing out. These items are typically 4-6 months old. You will find these across most collections: books, DVDs, audiobooks, adult, junior, etc.
We have a page on this website that updates monthly with images of newly acquired items in most common collections. These are items that were purchased in the previous month. You can find this page in New Items.
Similarly, on our Online Catalogue we have a page for both new items and items recommended by staff or the Dunsborough Library Book Chat Club. You can find this under New & Featured Titles.
