The City of Busselton Libraries are grateful for all items that are donated. Donated items become the property of the City of Busselton Libraries. We reserve the right to accept, reject, sell, or otherwise dispose of donated materials. Acceptance of donations is at the discretion of the librarian.

Conditions for Donated Items

  • We apply the same criteria as outlined in our collection development guidelines, which can be found on our Library Guidelines page.

  • We are unable to inform donors of the usage patterns of items added to the collection.

  • We are unable to record details of the donor on the item.

Items that cannot be accepted:

  • Books older than 2 years

  • DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, or cassettes

  • Magazines

  • Condensed or abridged books

  • Items affected by sun, damp, staining, mildew, or insect infestation

  • Encyclopaedias

  • Textbooks, technical, and scientific books

  • Items with pages marked

  • Please see staff if you have items that may be suitable for inclusion in our Local Studies Collection.
