The Grazier’s Son, by Cathryn Hein

Cover of The Grazier's Son, by Cathryn Hein.

When a young helicopter pilot travels to a small country town in Victoria to claim his inherited property from a father he’d never met, he is greeted by a town that hates him. As he digs into his father’s history, he discovers his father had been a highly regarded and respected stock agent until his untimely death by suicide revealed a fraud that left many investors on the edge of financial ruin. The behaviour of the uncle of a young woman he gets to know leads him to suspect that there is more to the death than people think.

Like all good mysteries, there is suspicion, tension, and a dangerous climax all intertwined with an eventual boy likes girl scenario. A good light read.
