Join us for a heartwarming evening at the Living Library, where two incredible local voices share their unique life journeys, full of spirit, music, resilience, and community passion.

📖 Eilis Doyle
Imagine growing up as the middle child in a sprawling family of fifteen kids. Eilis was raised in the heart of an Irish Catholic household that journeyed across the world to start anew in Australia some seventy years ago. Caught between the chaos of older siblings and the needs of the younger ones, her story unfolds in the quiet middle. Growing up in a musical family, Eilis often communicated through song. Painfully shy as a child, she didn’t speak much at all, but boy she did love to sing!

Trials, tribulations, laughter, and music. A fine life indeed! Come along and meet Eilis and hear her stories of growing up in Australia in the 50’s, raising her son in the 70’s, and loving living in Busso in 2025!

📖 Ant Pursell
Ant’s name is synonymous with advocacy. With decades of service in the disability sector as a teacher, volunteer, and advocate, he’s also the president of more community groups than most of us can imagine. Ant is especially passionate about the Disabled Surfers Association. In 2008, alongside his late wife Rita, he launched the program in the Southwest to give people of all ages living with disability the chance to experience surfing in a safe, fun, and dignified environment. Head to Bunker Bay when the program is running and you’ll witness pure joy and laughter—better yet, slip on some sunscreen and a rashie, and join in the fun! Ant is a born storyteller with a big heart and plenty of banter. Come along to hear his story and discover a fresh perspective on life in the Southwest.
