Are you confused about what’s true and what’s not? Overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information online? Concerned about how misinformation and hate speech spread so easily?
The Matter of Facts is a media literacy workshop designed to help communities better recognise misinformation and confidently navigate today’s complex information landscape.
This workshop is hosted and facilitated by Busselton Library, using high-quality resources developed by the ABC, in partnership with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and Western Sydney University.
What to expect:
- A guided presentation using selected ABC documentary content
- Practical tools to help identify false, misleading, or emotionally manipulative information
- Safe, balanced, and respectful group discussion
- Links to trusted resources to explore at home
This is a welcoming space for thoughtful conversation, questions, and shared learning- no prior knowledge required.
Join us for a meaningful discussion, practical skills you can use every day, and a cuppa with morning tea provided.
