A compelling page turner! This wonderful writer weaves the story backwards and forwards in time and location, never losing the mystery or tension of the narrative.
The central character, Kali, has a troubled relationship with her mother, but after her mother dies, she decides to go on a journey to find answers to her mother’s past, and in doing so, uncovers family secrets, putting herself and young son in a very dangerous situation.
Above all, this is a story of the strength of a mother’s love.
