The Three Graces, by Amanda Craig

Cover of The Three Graces, by Amanda Craig.

Set in the idyllic Spring Countryside of a Tuscan Village, this novel centres on the lives of three women, all in their 80s, who become friends, sharing an expatriate existence. The time is now, and the problems are real, including illegal refugees escaping from Africa, using Italy as a conduit to a new life, and a Russian oligarch looking for a hideout away from Putin’s revengeful grasp. In the space of 2 weeks, amid preparations for a grandson’s wedding, all the character meet challenges involving their past and the present.

A good story, with a satisfying hopeful ending.
