Fun for the whole family
An exciting interactive storytime trail has been unveiled in Geographe!
Twenty panels spanning 1.6km along the Geographe foreshore have been installed, creating an engaging storytime activity for small groups and families with young children.
Titled The Storytime Way, it features pages from children’s picture book Wombat Can’t Sing by WA author Katie Stewart.
Families start at panel one (located on the Geographe foreshore footpath just 400m from Busselton Primary School) and can walk or ride all the way to the last panel which finishes at Longlands Park in Geographe.
Along the way, families will be able to read the complete story together.
The panels will be changed every few months so children can get excited about a new story!
It’s a great way to get outdoors, do some exercise, connect with your local library, and have fun.
It also helps children develop important literacy skills by reading with a grown-up, asking questions, and talking about the story.
It’s the perfect outdoor activity for schools and small groups, because it’s free and accessible to everyone.
The Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries thank the State Library of WA, Better Beginnings, and the City of Busselton for their help bringing this project to life.
