Repertory Recollections

The logo of the Busselton Oral History Group

Established in 1985, the Busselton Oral History Group is an active group of volunteers that work to capture the fascinating stories and lives of people of Busselton, Dunsborough and surrounding areas. These interviews capture the social and cultural history of Busselton and are an important part of the Local Studies Collection at the Busselton Library.

One such interview is Repertory Recollections. A collection of interviews recording the memories that outline a general history of the Busselton Repertory Club from its inception in 1949 to 2016. As a local, the Repertory Theatre experience, is one I remember fondly. You can find this recording in our catalgoue, along with many more Oral Histories which are available for loan.

Do you love interviewing or transcribing? Have a passion for preserving local community history? The Busselton Oral History Group would love to hear from you!

No experience necessary. Training will be provided. For more information about the group, email the Busselton Oral History Group.

There are many items from our Local Studies Collection, such as oral history recordings, that can be borrowed from the Busselton and Dunsborough libraries.  These can be found in the Local Studies section.  Items from the archives, held at Busselton Library, such as books and transcripts, can also be accessed by appointment. You can contact our Local Studies officer via this form to request access to archive material to view at Busselton Library.
