Pardon My French, by Rachel Morgan McIntosh

Cover of Pardon My French, by Rachel Mogan McIntosh.

This book records the variety of experiences of a family that moves to a village in Southern France for a year.

The mother tells of departure difficulties, settling in, traumatic experiences of the children within the school system, and socialising without adequate French words.

I found it entertaining, sometimes funny, and an adventure not for the fainthearted. The mother writes fully about her own feelings. A good read and vicarious experience if you haven’t done it yourself.

3.5/5 Stars.
